In 1892, Mr. Hurst was given a fifteen-year lease on ''Toong Sra Pratoom'' (ทุ่งสระปทุม) by the king and the club was formed as ''The Gymkhana Club'' (สโมสรยิมคานา) and ''Race Course Society'' (สมาคมแข่งม้า).
